Art Philosophy Layered "Cake"...Yummy!

When I showed this "cake" to my daughter, she said that it looked good enough to eat! That's quite a compliment, seeing as it came from a tweenie girl that is too cool for most things :o)

I made this layered cake almost entirely with the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. All of the cake layers, flowers, and leaves were cut with Art Philosophy, but it did not contain a hexagon shape... so I cheated and cut the hexagon tops and bottoms with the Artbooking cartridge! Of course, you could always just trace around the shape and cut out by hand.

The palette that I used for this project included cardstock and inks in the following colors: Cotton Candy, Lagoon, Pear, and White Daisy.

Here are the 3 cake layers:

Middle Layer

This week, the Fantabulous Cricut Blog, challenge #218 has a "Summer Treats" theme. I will be entering my cake in the challenge. Although maybe not a traditional summer treat, both of my children have summer birthdays, so a fancy cake is always a summer treat around our house!

Join me at the Rubber Stamp Convention

I will be attending a vendor event this coming weekend in Carson, CA, and made this cake as a display piece for my table. If you live near the Carson area, please come and visit me at the Rubber Stamp Convention on July 12 from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm, or July 13 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. For more information, including location and driving directions, please click HERE. Stop by my booth and say "hi!"

I'll see you in the craft room,

    1. Hi Sherrie, thank you so much for your comment! I cut the bottom layer at 3 different sizes and then roughly assembled to see which one fit best on my cake plate... I'm not sure which one I settled on, maybe the 8"? The other layers were roughly sized in the CCR to what looked proportional, I think it was about 5" and 2".
